Ad Scope

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

The short version: Ad Scope does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any of your data — to us or anyone else. Everything it does happens locally, inside your own browser.

What Ad Scope does

Ad Scope is a Chrome extension that helps you quickly check a brand's advertising activity. When you visit a website, Facebook Page, or Instagram profile, it identifies the brand shown on the page and gives you one-click links to that brand's public ad listings on Meta's official Ad Library and Google's official Ads Transparency Center. It can also check whether common marketing tracking tags (like Meta Pixel or Google Analytics) are present and working on the page you're viewing.

What data we collect

None. Ad Scope does not have a server, a database, an analytics tool, or any backend of its own. There is nowhere for your data to go, because we haven't built anywhere for it to go.

What the extension reads, and why

To do its job, Ad Scope needs to read certain information from the page you're currently viewing — but this happens entirely inside your browser and is never sent anywhere:

  • Page content (title, meta tags, links): read locally to identify the brand shown on the page.
  • The current tab's URL: used to know which website you're on, and to open the right Meta/Google page when you click a button.
  • Network request patterns (read-only): used only to check whether marketing tags are actively firing on the page. Ad Scope never blocks or modifies any request — it only observes.

None of this is stored after you close the tab, sent to us, sent to any third party, or used for advertising.

Links to third-party pages

Buttons in Ad Scope open Meta's Ad Library or Google's Ads Transparency Center — pages owned by Meta and Google, not us. Their own privacy policies apply there.

Changes to this policy

If this ever changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
